First by sea, then by land
Frank has spent most of his life underwater — diving is where he's most himself. Dawn caught the bug too, earning her own certification in August 2024, and from there the two of them logged dive after dive together, from Florida to Thailand to Hawaii.
In April 2025, they traveled to Curaçao to celebrate Frank's birthday. On the second dive of their first day, Frank was doing what he always does — pointing out interesting finds along the reef — when he handed Dawn an unusually intriguing shell. Hidden inside was a diamond ring.
Forty feet underwater, there's no way to say yes out loud, but there was no mistaking her answer. Back on the boat, Frank made sure of it in words. The next evening, over dinner in a cabana above the water, he asked her all over again — this time on one knee. (For anyone wondering: the ring from the dive was a decoy. The real one made its debut on land.)
